The Community Track of the Kellogg Health Scholars Program provides two-year postdoctoral fellowships in academic and community settings, developing skills in community-academic partnering, community-based participatory research, and application of research to policy development and advocacy. As stated by two recent Scholars,
"work in health disparities is now a major public health priority...research can no longer exist in a vacuum or hidden away behind the protective walls of the ivory tower...[This] Program...created with the specific goal to merge community, policy and the academy, [provides] us with an incredible edge as we begin our careers in the field of health disparities."
"I very much feel that I have become 'connected' with a network of gifted, dedicated researchers and professionals who share a vision for doing community-based public health aimed at eliminating health disparities and promoting health and wellness."
