Using the Classroom Computer & Epson 7250 Video Projector
- Please shut off the video projector when
not in use; replacement lamps cost $400 (no exaggeration).
- Insure that all cables are correctly attached:
- Network cable (usually red or yellow) plugs into the wall
jack labeled “network” and to the rear of the
computer. This cable must be connected at the time the computer
is switched on in order for the network to be detected.
- Video cable connects the video jack on the rear of the
computer to the Computer 1 video jack on the rear of
the projector (see illustration below).
- Audio cable connects the audio out jack on the rear of the
computer to the Audio 1 jack on the rear of the projector
(see illustration below).
- Video cable from the monitor connects to the Computer
Out jack on the rear of the projector (see illustration
below).

- Note that the projector must be powered on in order for you
to see anything on the computer monitor (as the monitor receives
its signal from the projector). If the projector is operating,
but the monitor remains blank, press the Computer button
on the projector control panel (see illustration on the reverse
side of this sheet) to insure that the projector is “looking
at” the proper input.
- Press the Power button (see illustration below) to begin
using the Epson projector; there will be a 60-90 second delay
before the lamp reaches full intensity. The power signal lamp
will change from orange to flashing green during this phase.

- To project the image from a laptop, connect the video cable
from the video port on the rear of the laptop to the Computer
2 jack on the rear of the projector. Note that some laptops
require that the cable be connected and the projector on before
starting the computer in order to detect the external device.
Press the Computer button on the control panel (see illustration
above) to toggle between Computer 1 (classroom computer) and Computer
2 (laptop) displays.
- To display the signal from the videotape recorder, first be
sure that the cables from the VCR’s audio and video jacks
are connected to the Video In and L & R Audio In
jacks on the rear of the projector. Press the Video button
on the control panel (illustrated above) and then begin playing
your videotape. While holding down the Shift button, press
the Volume buttons to adjust the level as needed.
