The Center is founded on the premise that the law plays an integral role in how these two health systems are organized, financed, allocate resources, and deliver services. By exploring the law’s role in shaping the health systems, the Center will enhance strategic decisions among public health and health care practitioners, and produce effective legislative and regulatory policy.
CLEH addresses fundamental questions about the role of law in the ongoing transformation of the health systems. Center research faculty:
- Conduct rigorous empirical research to advance knowledge of how the law influences the delivery of public health and health care services
- Translate research into practical tools and strategies to improve health delivery systems
- Provide a national forum to exchange ideas and develop solutions to emerging questions regarding the role of law in the health systems
- Examine the ethical, practical, and policy implications of empirical research findings
