SPH Computing Account Passwords

Faculty and staff on the SPH network usually have two passwords (students may not have all of these passwords):

  1. A Windows Active Directory password for access to UM Exchange and SPH Windows file servers (U: drive)
  2. A UMICH Kerberos password for access to university/ITCS services such as IMAP email, Wolverine Access, MFile, ITCS Statistics and Computation Service, the Online Directory, and Campus Computing Sites (e.g. basement of SPH II)
  3. Instructions are included below for changing each of these.

    Windows Active Directory Password

    Description: This password is used to log into an SPH Windows computer, to connect to the SPH Windows file server while away from our network, and to access your UM Exchange account.

    Your Windows Active Directory password can be set or reset using the ITCS Accounts web page.

    Please note the password requirements described on the above page.

    UMICH Kerberos Password

    Description: This password is used when reading email at mail.umich.edu, logging into the ITS Statistics and Computation Service, changing an online directory entry, when accessing MFile, when using Wolverine Access, and logging in at the Campus Computing Sites (e.g. basement of SPH II) .

    Your UMICH Kerberos password can be set or reset using the ITCS Accounts web page.
