Please allow 24 hours (Monday through Friday) after submission of any request to the SPH Computing Services Help system (sph.help) for a response from a SPH Computing Services staff member. If this is an urgent matter which you have verified affects more than one person and must be handled by SPH Computing Services staff in less than 24 hours (e.g. a network outage), please come to the Computing Services Help Desk at M3064 SPH II and/or leave a detailed voice message at 936-1247.

  • The subject line is the first information from your request visible to SPH Computing Services staff monitoring the help system. A meaningful subject such as "M3063: can't get to network" may elicit a quicker response than a vague subject like "Help!!!"
  • It is helpful to include the room number for with office computers.
  • Please do not use quotation marks.

Please include, as appropriate:

  • the text of any relevant error messages,
  • the name of the software you were using when the problem occured,
  • for UNIX problems, the name of the UNIX machine that you are using,
  • a statement of what you have done so far to address the problem.
