The National Institute of Health has awarded Kristin ("KT") Tomey a 5-year, K01 Mentored Research Scientist Development Award. The research seeks to improve knowledge about physical and cognitive functioning and their trajectories over time in the context of the neighborhood environment. This research study places special emphasis on social and physical aspects of neighborhoods. An additional goal of this research is to further understanding of how neighborhood environments contribute to racial/ethnic and economic disparities in function.
