Erin Bakshis graduated from Northern Michigan University with honors in 2006 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Mathematics and Sociology. She received her Master's of Public Health in Epidemiology, focusing on psychiatric epidemiology under the advisement of Drs KJ Hoggatt and Sandro Galea. She has been working at the Center for Social Epidemiology and Population Health (CSEPH) as a research assistant since the fall of 2006 under Drs George Kaplan and Sandro Galea. Currently, she is a dual degree Master’s in Statistics and PhD candidate working with Dr. Ana Diez-Roux on DNA methylation studies in MESA, psychiatric epidemiology and gene by social environment interactions.
