Title:
Research Investigator, Epidemiology
Erin's research interests broadly involve investigating how social, cultural, genetic, and environmental factors interact to influence experiences of health and illness particularly in children and the elderly, those at both ends of the life course spectrum. She is interested in understanding how events early in life, such as exposure to pathogens, allergies, and vaccinations, alter chronic disease susceptibility and physical and cognitive function in later life. Erin graduated with a B.A. in Chemistry from DePauw University. She then began her doctoral work at the University of Michigan, receiving her M.S. in Biological Chemistry before moving with her lab to Duke University where she completed her Ph.D. in Genetics. Erin returned to the University of Michigan and completed her M.P.H. in Epidemiology in 2009.
