Professional Summary
Judith Calhoun is an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Management and Policy. She has a master's degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Iowa, and a doctorate in Cognitive and Organizational Psychology from the University of Michigan. In addition she has a master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Michigan, with specialization in Marketing, Market Research, and Information Systems Management.
Professor Calhoun was on the faculty at the University of Michigan Medical School from 1979-1993, specializing in clinical teaching, curriculum development, measurement, evaluation and educational research. As well, she has served as an executive leader in strategic planning, marketing communications, and physician services at three academic health care centers and systems, including the University of Michigan, Boston University, and the University of Iowa. In addition, she has managed health care leadership and consulting experience as the Director of Marketing and Sales, a Network Development Consultant for MCARE, and as a founding director for the University of Michigan's managed care plan (MCARE). She has also served as a consultant to other managed care organizations, numerous health care facilities and systems throughout the country, the National Institutes of Health, and the Veteran's Administration. Currently she is working on competency model development for the National Center for Healthcare Leadership and the Association of Schools of Public Health.
