Faculty & ResearchFor more than a century, the University of Michigan has distinguished itself in both teaching and research in public health, carrying out pathbreaking work in areas as diverse as vaccine research and atmospheric transport of pollutants, public health genetics and problems of the uninsured. UM, SPH in Line for New Junior FacultyThe University of Michigan will hire 25 new junior faculty in the initial phase of a five-year, $30 million initiative to add 100 junior tenure-track positions in areas that advance interdisciplinary teaching and research. SPH is integral to a proposal for 4 new positions approved in the first phase, focused on "Microbial Ecology: Relationships to Human and Environmental Health."
