Introduction
Welcome to Public Health Genetics: An Education
Model.
This Web site was created through a project at the
University of Michigan School of Public Health to design,
pilot, and distribute a curriculum in public health
genetics. There is a compelling need to prepare all
future public health professionals in the biology, technology,
applications, responsibilities, and issues of genetic
information which will play an increasing role in our
understanding of health and disease. Through this web
site we seek to share our experience in curriculum development
in the interest of assisting others in public health,
or related fields, who seek to expand their curriculum
offerings in public health genetics. Please read further
and learn more about how public health genetics integrates
knowledge in a manner that can more effectively promote
and protect the public's health.
