Welcome to The Fall Issue of The.Link

It's been a very busy fall and we are excited to update you with a new issue of the Link. As you may have already noticed, The.Link editorship has been in a period of transition. My name is Emily Renda. I am a graduate of HBHE '09 and I am very excited to be taking on this role as the Alumni Coordinator for HBHE. I want to say thank you very much to Alison Grodzinski, editor since 2007, for helping me during this transition and for all her great work as alumni coordinator. Alison is still in the department but is now working full time in the Prevention Research Center. Also, congratulations to her on her new baby boy, born in July! I very much look forward to working with my fellow alumni and bringing you all news from the department!

This issue features a profile of HBHE alumni and married couple Holly and Russ Derry, '95 & '96, who are balancing a busy life at home with two kids and fulfilling careers in Public Health. In other alumni news, Cecilia Doak '44 has been honored with an award in her name for her work in health literacy. This issue also highlights all of the research that is going on in the department in our Faculty Connect Section. You can also read about our newly expanded Field Placement Office in Internship Corner. We are also delighted to keep you up-to-date with news and events around the department.
