Cecilia (conrath) Doak, '44
Cecilia and her husband, Leonard, have been honored by Health Literacy Missouri establishing an award in their name, "The Cecilia and Leonard Doak Health Literacy Champion Award" to honor individuals and organizations who make outstanding contributions in health literacy and whose work focuses on bridging the gap between the skills of people and the demands of the health care system.
Walt Stasinski, '85
Walt is a motivational speaker and conducts programs titled, "Laughter is the Best Medicine.".
Jim McKenzie, '86
Dr. McKenzie, along with HBHE Department Chair Marc Zimmerman, was one of three individuals to recieve a Distinguished Fellow Award from the Society of Public Health Education (SPOHE) at the annual meeting in Denver this year. Dr. McKenzie is a professor in the Department of Physiology and Health Science at Ball State University.
Ragnhild S Bundesmann, '88
Ragnhild is still working at McLaren Regional Medical Center in Flint, MI as Director of the Research Institute.
Chandra Sivakumar, '99
Chandra is the Wellness Coordinator for Mission High School in San Francisco. Chandra loves her job, and as a MPH/MSW graduate, she feels that this position is the perfect blend of the dual degrees and provides training in conducting health education workshops with students and in mental health counseling.
nicole Lomerson Schickling, '04
Nicole (BS '01, MPH '04) married Matthew R. Schickling (University of Hartford, BA '94) on May 14, 2010 at Old Sturbridge Village in Sturbridge, MA. Several Michigan alumnae were in the bridal party, including bridesmaids Asli Aka (BSE '00, MSE '05) and Kristen Coll (BA '02), and matron of honor Dr. Erica (Riddle) Taylor (BS (hon) '00). Nicole is a health policy analyst and researcher at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, and Matt is a Project Manager at the GMarie Group based in Phoenix, AZ. They reside in Sturbridge, MA.

Charlotte graduated from UC Berkeley's DrPH program in May 2010 and is now doing a postdoc at Berkeley's Labor Occupational Health Program.

Emily and her husband Renato Cardoso welcomed their son Emerson Conrado Cardoso on November 11, 2010, weighing 8 lbs., 7 ozs.
Rachel Weintraub, '10
Rachel won one of 18 highly competitive ASPH/CDC Public Health Fellowships this year. The fellows will be working with teams of public health experts within the CDC, contributing to CDC’s Health Protection Goals.
Kristin Goddard, '10
Kristin accepted an ORISE Fellowship in Vaccine Safety with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Service's National Vaccine Program Office in Washington, D.C.
Sarah Tersegno, '10
Sarah began a new job this October in Helena, MT with the Montana Department of Public Health & Human Services in the Chronic Disease Prevention & Health Promotion Bureau as the Program Manager of the Montana Diabetes Project. Sarah is enjoying translating the evidence-based Diabetes Prevention Program into practice as well as becoming familiar with Montana's friendly people and expanse of frontierland, mountains and wilderness.
