Research at the Intersection of Genomics, Health Behavior, and Health Education
Advances in genomics
are rapidly presenting both great opportunities and difficult challenges for public health.
In order to understand the complex psychosocial impact of genomic
discoveries and to address the ethical issues that have arisen, the
Health Behavior and Health Education (HBHE) Genetics Research Group based in the University of Michigan School of Public Health is
conducting research on the following topics:
1. The psychological and behavioral impact of genetic testing
2. Ethical issues in genetic research
3. Risk communication
4. Public and professional knowledge & attitudes
5. Health education needs in
genetics
Researchers interested in collaboration should
contact us at: hbhegenetics@umich.edu. The HBHE Genetics Research Group is directed by Dr. Scott Roberts.
