HMP Alumni Board

Proposed HMP Alumni Board Mission

Committees

Committees will be chaired by a Board member and there will be at least one other Board member on each Committee.   This means that each Committee will have at least two Board members.  Additional Committee members will be appointed through the Nominating Committee.  Committees will have at least 8 members, although Committee membership will vary in size depending upon the scope of the work and the needs of the Committee.          

Five committees are proposed:

  1. Nominating Committee
  2. Student Recruitment Committee
  3. Career Development Committee
  4. Alumni Relations Committee
  5. Development Committee

At least one HMP faculty member will be assigned to work with each Committee.  In addition, current HMP students will be invited to either serve on or staff Committees as appropriate.  Staff from HMP Student Services and the Griffith Leadership Center will provide staff support to Committees as necessary.

The HMP Department Chair will serve as a member of the Nominating Committee.  The Department Chair or other faculty will be a member of other committees upon the invitation of the Committee Chair. Committee members may be considered by the Nominating Committee for membership on the Board.

Meetings

Board meeting agendas will be set by the HMP Alumni Board Chair and HMP Department Chair.  The HMP Alumni Board Chair will lead the meetings.  Meetings will be held twice a year in Ann Arbor unless the Board decides on an alternative location.  Summary minutes of Board meetings will be distributed to all board members.  Committees will meet in person or via teleconference as determined by the Co
