HSOP student Emily Nicklett has been awarded the prestigious Hartford Doctoral Fellowship in geriatric social work! Emily's dissertation topic is "Diabetes Health Trajectories: Racial/Ethnic, Class, and Gender Disparities." Congratulations Emily!

ANN ARBOR, Mich.—An international study of dialysis patients shows that although U.S. residents have the highest out-of-pocket drug costs, even those who can afford their prescription drugs are far less likely to take them than patients in other countries.

Women in Health Care and Bioscience Leadership:
State of the Knowledge Symposium

The Women's Health Program at the University of Michigan Health System, the Griffith Leadership Center at the University of Michigan School of Public Health, and Catalyst, a nonprofit research and advisory organization focused on opportunities for women in business, are partnering together on a symposium entitled "Women in Health Care and Bioscience Leadership: State of Knowledge."  This symposium will focus on women's career trajectories and the achievement of leadership positions in the broad field of health care, including bioscience, nursing, medicine, health care administration and public health administration.
