In addition to the core curriculum, students must take one or two additional required courses depending upon their degree choice:
MHSA students take Managerial Accounting (HMP 606) and Corporate Finance (HMP 607)
MPH students take either Cost-Effectiveness Analysis in Health (HMP 610) or Program Evaluation in Public Health (HMP 640)
There is some flexibility and choice for students within the required courses in the core curriculum. In addition, students can tailor their elective course choices to their interests and specific career goals. Please view the sample curricula for different degrees and career paths.
The Department of Health Management and Policy is pleased to offer the Masters of Science in Health Services Research (MS-HSR). Students interested in pursuing careers in health services research will find this an attractive degree option. The program, which builds on our internationally recognized MHSA and MPH programs, is designed to provide intensive coursework and applied experience in health services research methods. It permits students to take advantage of our combined strengths in cutting edge health policy and health services research.
