| Prerequisites: EHS 505, 506 or equivalent |
| Description: Selected topics in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of environmental and occupational disease, including coverage of toxins, exposures, organ systems, and disease. Lectures and case studies address exposures to solvents, radon, lead and other metals, asbestos and other pneumoconiotic dusts, outdoor air pollution, indoor air quality, and noise. Major health effects and disease categories covered include cancer, respiratory disease, and reproductive health. Prerequisites: basic knowledge of human physiology, and exposure assessment. (These requirements may be taken concurrently with this course). |
