Health Education Resources

Because health education programs are community-based, development of materials that are written at appropriate literacy levels, that are culturally sensitive, and that are available in multiple languages is essential.

Luckily, freely accessible health education tools are available to assist health educators with the development of materials. These resources provide:

  • Information on the health topic, itself, such as disease information, prevalence and incidence, and latest trends
  • Access to existing multi-language written and spoken materials
  • Access to guides on cultural competency, best practices, books, reasearch initiatives and findings, curricula, and multimedia materials
  • Tools that assist with content creation and evaluation
  • Tools that help assist audiences with disability, English as a second language, and limited-literacy issues

Health educators can use these resources to create low-barrier, culturally sensitive, multi-language content for their programs.
