Introduction

Microsoft PowerPoint is a software tool used to prepare professional-looking presentations incorporating bulleted lists, charts, tables, graphics, clip art, and multimedia content. Within a single file, PowerPoint can create audience handouts, outlines, speaker notes, 35mm slide presentations, and overhead transparencies. The unique advantage of PowerPoint is the ability to use a variety of special effects (e.g. color, animation, slide transitions) and to facilitate access to external information (e.g. spreadsheet data, web sites, video files).

Microsoft PowerPoint is an extremely effective presentation tool, yet it is also fairly simple to use. This tutorial will step you through the basics of creating a PowerPoint presentation while providing you with guidance on how to employ good design techniques and an engaging presentation style.
