Specifying Function ArgumentsAfter selecting a specific function within the Insert Function dialog box and clicking OK, the Function Argument dialog box appears. The term argument is a mathematical reference to the information or number that is used, or acted upon, by the function.
The Function Arguments dialog box helps select the appropriate content for the “arguments.” Additionally the dialog box provides the definition of the selected function along with what the argument should be. In the case of the SUM Function shown, the arguments can be up to 30 numbers, with any logical values and text ignored. The formula result is given as a check to the selected argument(s). |
