Overview

This tutorial provides a basic introduction to Microsoft Excel, a spreadsheet software program. Excel can be used for maintaining mailing lists, tracking and analyzing statistics, compiling survey results, and performing advanced mathematical calculations. Specifically participants will learn how to work with cells and worksheets for general purpose spreadsheet use.

Participants may want to work through the tutorial before opening the Excel Practice Workbook.

This tutorial provides a basic level introduction to Excel.

Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  • Enter and format data into Excel worksheets
  • Enter basic functions, such as sums and averages
  • Differentiate between relative and absolute cell values
  • Create and modify graphs (charts)
  • Set print options
