ICS 300 & ICS 400 Scholarship Program

The Michigan Center for Public Health Preparedness is sponsoring a new scholarship opportunity for public health professionals to attend ICS 300 and ICS 400 classes being offered by the Michigan State Police Emergency Management and Homeland Security Division. Up to 80 spaces are being made available to allow qualified public health professionals to attend free of charge. The first course dates begin in late October 2007 and continue to July 2008.

Eligibility

You must be an employee of the Michigan Department of Community Health or one of the Michigan public health agencies.

Scholarships for individuals will be approved on a first come/first serve basis. The Michigan Center for Public Health Preparedness must approve all scholarships and will be guided by its mission to provide preparedness training for Michigan's public health practitioners.

Course Information

ICS 300 and ICS 400 courses are two-day, FEMA-certified and offered by the Michigan State Police Homeland Security Center. Note: All course sessions are filling quickly.

Please note that scholarships do not cover overnight accommodations for the Flint location.

Registration/Scholarship Procedures

Register directly at the Michigan State Police (MSP) website for the appropriate course. Complete their registration form. Under "Billing" put "MICPHP Grant." To access course information and MSP registration forms:

Your registration will be forwarded to the Michigan Center for Public Health Preparedness. Approvals will be notified by the Michigan State Police; any applicants who are not approved will be contacted by the Michigan Center for Public Health Preparedness. Please allow two to four weeks for scholarship rejection notices.
