Courant's expectations for the search. Current Dean Noreen Clark will step down from her position, effective June 30, 2005, at the completion of her second five-year term. The search for a new dean for the School of Public Health is under way (to apply or nominate for the position, see information at right). "Under Noreen's leadership of almost a decade, the School of Public Health has made outstanding progress and is now poised to move forward on a number of fronts," University of Michigan Provost Paul N. Courant said in a letter to faculty and staff. "I know that the School of Public Health and the entire university community are grateful for Dean Clark's dedication and leadership." Courant asked the committee to narrow the field and report its recommendations by late in the fall term 2004. Kenneth Warner, Avedis Donabedian Distinguished University Professor of Public Health and professor of health management and policy at SPH, is chair of the committee that will conduct a national search for Clark's successor.
