Test-drive UM SPH's Certificate in the Foundations of Public Health distance-learning program.

April 15, 2008, University of Michigan School of Public Health release

People considering a online learning program often want a hands-on introduction before they apply. So the University of Michigan School of Public has launched an introductory "online experience" that allows prospective students to explore elements of its Certificate in the Foundations of Public Health (CFPH) curriculum and learning environment at their own pace. Modules in the customizable introduction can be clicked through with the convenience that only distance learning provides.

A sample course presentation regarding the use of theory to understand health behavior is also available.

Currently enrolling for fall 2008, CFPH is a 16-hour interdepartmental program that offers coursework in each of the five major disciplines of public health for students wishing to earn graduate credit. Courses are taught by University of Michigan School of Public Health faculty using distance learning. Certificate coursework may be transferable to a degree program within UM SPH or to other schools or programs of public health.
