Summary
Terri Mellow is Director of
Communications for the School of Public Health with responsibility for
schoolwide publications, web site content and design, and media relations.
She also directs the school’s alumni relations program, and is the
manager of the Public Health Consortium for Continuing Medical Education.
Most recently, she was director
of development and external relations for the School of Public Health,
a position which she held from 1988-2002. During this period, she designed
and implemented a comprehensive development program and launched and successfully
completed a five-year, capital campaign, raising $25.4 million, exceeding
the campaign goal of $18 million.
Prior to joining the University
of Michigan, Mellow was director of development and executive director
for a hospital foundation and regional health system headquartered in
Maryland. She successfully completed two capital campaigns for the Adventist
Health System: to build the Weinschel Health Education Center in Gaithersburg,
Maryland, and to expand the emergency department at Shady Grove Adventist
Hospital, Rockville, Maryland. She has held positions as director of external
relations for Northeastern University School of Law (Boston), and as director
of communications for Northwestern University School of Law (Chicago).
