Because applying for an MSI graduate internship involves a long-term commitment to the Programs (ideally a three- to nine-month internship followed by a two-year fellowship), we work individually with applicants to ensure that the experience is right for them before encouraging them to apply. If you think you might be interested in an MSI graduate internship, please contact us. Application deadlines are April 1 and November 1 each year, but the sooner you contact us, the more time you have to assess the experience and prepare a competitive application. Note that, like Population and Population-Environment Fellows, MSI
graduate interns undergo a rigorous review process by an external
Advisory Board, which is made up of leading academics and practitioners
in the field. Board members select the best-qualified candidates based
on applicants' academic excellence, technical skills, leadership potential,
overall suitability for an overseas assignment, and commitment to
a career in international family planning/reproductive health or population-environment.
