Individual applicants for a PEAK Fellowship
must be:
-
early-
or mid-career professionals from Latin
America or sub-Saharan Africa who have
shown leadership potential in the field
of reproductive health;
-
working
in their country of citizenship (not
a Ghanaian working in Nigeria, for example);
-
on the
staff of a local organization that prioritizes
reproductive health (this should be
a core part of the organizations
mission, not a peripheral activity);
-
a key
staff member of this organization (applicants
should be able to demonstrate both a
proven track-record at their organization
and a commitment to its long-term development);
-
able
to articulate a fellowship training
plan and applied project that will build
not only the candidates individual
capacity but also the capacity of his
or her home organization; and
-
able
to communicate using basic written and
spoken English (pre-fellowship English
language training may be available for
qualified candidates).
-
citizens
or permanent residents of the U.S.,
Canada, or European Union (regardless
of dual citizenship or birth place);
-
individuals
who received an undergraduate or graduate
degree from an institution in the U.S.,
Canada, or European Union;
-
professionals
employed at a college or university
(faculty members, professors, administrators,
or researchers);
-
graduate
students conducting research; or
-
coursework,
research or training for university
credit (PEAK does not fund any courses
that could be applied toward a university
degree).
