During their internship placements PEAK Fellows serve as short-term visiting professionals at leading regional and international organizations. The following are some of the organizations fellows have worked with and the areas they have focused on during their internships:

  • Advance Africa/Washington, D.C. and Zimbabwe
    • Developed and implemented a monitoring and evaluation system for a community-based contraceptive distribution program
  • Catholics for Choice/Washington, D.C.
    • Developed strategies for strengthening regional reproductive rights advocacy efforts
  • CEMOPLAF/Ecuador
    • Developed youth reproductive health programming strategies
  • Mexfam/Mexico
    • Learned about adolescent reproductive health programming and outreach from its award-winning Gente Joven (Young People) program
  • Population Services International/Zimbabwe
    • Conducted focus groups with young people to identify messages that would motivate them to seek HIV voluntary counseling and testing services
  • Prosalud/Bolivia
    • Learned to implement the organization’s popular “Knowledge Award” contest that uses a quiz-show format to test and improve the job knowledge of clinic staff
  • Save the Children/Philippines
    • Designed monitoring and evaluation tools for a community-based population-environment project
  • TADEPA/Peru
    • Trained rural adolescents as peer reproductive health educators
  • World Neighbors/India
    • Developed a population-environment data collection tool
