PEAK Fellowships are designed to help early- to mid-career professionals build their potential to become leaders –- not only within their home organization but also in the broader reproductive health field. Therefore, fellows can focus their training in a variety of areas that contribute to this goal. To date, PEAK Fellows have focused their training on areas such as the following:

  • programming (youth, HIV, male involvement, quality of care, population-environment, etc.);
  • management (supervision, strategic planning, project design, etc.);
  • research (surveys, methods, monitoring and evaluation, etc.);
  • communication (advocacy, behavior change, community mobilization, etc.);
  • sustainability (fundraising, income generation, etc.); and
  • networking and partnership building.
During the course of their placements, fellows also show growth along less tangible measures of professionalism -- in areas like independence, self-confidence, cross-cultural awareness, initiative, and motivating others to achieve goals.
