PUBLIC HEALTH FORUM ON WOMEN'S HEALTH
The Public Health Forum on Women's Health is a cross-disciplinary interest group within the University of Michigan School of Public Health. The Forum aims to foster communication among faculty interested in Women's Health Research both within the School and between the School and other relevant university programs such as the Michigan Initiative for Women's Health (MIWH). Specifically the purposes of the Forum are to:
- Improve the visibility in the school, university, and nationally of the research and teaching strength of SPH faculty in the area of Women's Health.
- Facilitate communication across departments about interested faculty members research and support individual and joint research inititatives.
- Facilitate interaction with and disseminate information about MIWH activities especially in their efforts to develop a Women's Health Scientist Training Program.
- Facilitate coordination of existing curricula in Women's Health across departments and coordinate the development of new courses.
- Enable School of Public Health students to take advantage of the opportunity to simultaneously obtain a Certificate in Women's Studies as part of their degree program.
- Enhance our ability to recruit students to the school.
