Ergopod Accessibility Workstation
This workstation supports a wide range of ergonomic and assistive accommodations for sitting, standing, and wheelchair users. It can be used with the Aeron-brand fully adjustable ergonomic chair. The Ergopod was developed at the Adaptive Technology Computer Site (ATCS) of the University of Michigan and was designed primarily for computer users with disabilities. It is a sit-stand-recline motorized adjustable-height work surface equipped with assistive hardware and software. The ITCS adaptive technology loadset provides software for blind, visually impaired and learning disabled users. The Ergopod is located at the east end of the Public Health Library, across from the Multimedia Lab. Additional Ergopods are located at Taubman Medical Library, in some Campus Computing sites, and at the Duderstadt Center. Multiple USB ports onboard the pod facilitate users' capability of using individually owned keyboards and mice, as preferred. Features of the Ergopod:
