Reach 2010 Enhanced Evaluation
Principle Investigator: Daniel Kruger, UM-SPH
Project Dates: 2007-2008
Funding: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
Description:
The Genesee County REACH 2010 focuses on reducing disparities in perinatal health and infant mortality in Genesee County, Michigan, through multi-faceted community based intervention strategies. The Enhanced Evaluation project expands upon the original Genesee County REACH 2010 evaluation plan with the goal to provide a more in-depth and comparative investigation to explore the connection between infant mortality (IM) prevention efforts and IM rates, maternal conditions, and perinatal health outcomes.
Evaluation Methods:
Outcome measures include vital statistics data (e.g., prenatal care visits, gestation period, premature births, birth-weight, APGAR scores, mortality). Time series, hierarchical linear modeling, repeated measures analyses will be used. The evaluation also includes a network analysis to examine connections across program and community organizations.
