Excellence in Research Award

Prof. Martin Philbert, Executive Director of the Risk Science Center presents the Excellence in Research Award to Emeritus Professor David Garabrant at the 2007 Bernstein Symposium. The award was presented in recognition for excellence in research and in the advancement of knowledge of environmental threats to human health. Dr. Garabrant is a founding director of the Risk Science Center. He is an emeritus professor in the Environmental Health Sciences department and has conducted research in Occupational Medicine and Epidemiology for the past 25 years. Current research includes studies of dioxin exposure pathways in the environment, review and assessment of mercury and PCB levels in fish found in Michigan waterways, and risk factors for pancreatic cancer.
