Park Group - Environmental Epidemiology of Aging

Leader

Sung Kyun Park, Sc.D., M.P.H.

Major Fields

Keywords

Environmental Epidemiology of Air Pollution and Heavy Metals

Description

Our group investigates environmental and occupational determinants of age-related diseases including cardio-metabolic disease, age-related hearing loss, and age-related cataract with a focus on exploring biological pathways using gene-environment and nutrition-environment interactions. Environmental and occupational determinants include air pollution, heavy metals (lead, cadmium, mercury), bisphenol-A, and occupational noise. The study cohorts we examine are the Normative Aging Study, Multi-Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis (MESA), National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), and Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES).
