About this Project

An active surveillance of dengue is being conducted through the identification of potential dengue cases by an epidemiologist within the hospital in Borbon, Ecuador. Blood samples are taken from each suspected case and stored in a -20 degree celsius freezer for subsequent PCR analysis. The PCR + samples will be compared with other samples collected in other parts of Ecuador to assess where the dengue in Borbon originates.
