- Higher rates of heart disease
- Higher rates of hypertension
- Higher incidence of AIDS

- Less access to health care
- Less health insurance coverage
- Less physician availability
- Less pre-natal care
- Less dental care

Also provided are links to various University of Michigan and UM School of Public Health web sites that focus on diversity, and the School of Public Health's community-based participatory research partnerships. Several of the organizations in these partnerships serve as internship sites for SEP students.
