After matriculating you may want to use the "Incoming Student To Do List" below in your plans :

1. Register for 2008 New Student Orientation - August 27-28 (August 29 optional). Tentative agenda.
2. Register for the August 26, 2008, Practice Plunge, sponsored by the Office of Public Health Practice.
3. Become a "fan" of the new schoolwide UM SPH Facebook page, and start connecting with others.
4. Explore student organizations at UM SPH, organized around interests, causes, and areas of study.
5. Learn about student health insurance options and University Health Service and submit your Immunization Form.
6. Read about SPH Student Rights and Responsibilities.
7. Find housing and join the Northwood Roommate Matching Board.
8. Finalize arrangements for financial aid and other funding.
9. Check out opportunities for student employment through the University; search for Graduate Student Instructor (GSI) and Graduate Student Staff Assistant (GSSA) positions.
10. See how SPH Library & Informatics can support your studies.
11. Obtain a Uniqname.
12. Become familiar with tasks performed through Wolverine Access.
13. Become informed about the campus computing environment.
14. Learn about public health core requirements.
15. Consider which courses you will be taking.
16. Prepare for exemption exams.
17. Explore the University of Michigan and Ann Arbor.
18. Consider registering for Practice Plunge.
19. Attend Orientation August 27-August 28 (mandatory) and
    August 29 (optional). You will be notified of the details and schedule
    soon.
20. Obtain your MCARD
21. Order UM football tickets and be included in the SPH seating block.
22. Visit Career Services to explore career opportunities.

On location in China: The Office of Public Health Practice sponsored 30 SPH students on a spring break 2008 trip to China. They learned about health care and environmental health with hosts at the Tianjin CDC. Read their blog, describing visits to clinics, homes, and facilities.
