After matriculating you may want to use the "Incoming Student To Do List" below in your plans :
- Register for 2008 New Student Orientation - August 27-28 (August 29 optional). Tentative agenda.
- Register for the August 26, 2008, Practice Plunge, sponsored by the Office of Public Health Practice.
Become a "fan" of the new schoolwide UM SPH Facebook page, and start connecting with others.
- Explore student organizations at UM SPH, organized around interests, causes, and areas of study.
- Learn about student health insurance options and University Health Service and submit your Immunization Form.
- Read about SPH Student Rights and Responsibilities.
- Find housing and join the Northwood Roommate Matching Board.
- Finalize arrangements for financial aid and other funding.
- Check out opportunities for student employment through the University; search for Graduate Student Instructor (GSI) and Graduate Student Staff
Assistant (GSSA) positions.
- See how SPH Library & Informatics can support your studies.
- Obtain a Uniqname.
- Become familiar with tasks performed through Wolverine Access.
- Become informed about the campus computing environment.
- Learn about public health core requirements.
- Consider which courses you will be taking.
- Prepare for exemption exams.
- Explore the University of Michigan and Ann Arbor.
- Consider registering for Practice Plunge.
- Attend Orientation August 27-August 28 (mandatory) and
August 29 (optional). You will be notified of the details and schedule
soon.
- Obtain your MCARD
- Order UM football tickets and be included in the SPH seating block.

- Visit Career Services to explore career opportunities.
