International Applicants
About 12% of students at SPH are from countries other than the United States. They are an important part of our community and make valuable contributions. Applicants who are not citizens or permanent residents of the United States do have additional considerations and steps to complete when applying to a program at UM SPH. As a result, it is extremely important for these applicants to submit an application early.
M.S. and Ph.D. Applicants:
Refer to the Rackham Graduate School website.
- Applicants to the Health Management and Policy M.S. program with transcripts from an international institution (non-U.S. university, college, or school) are required to submit credential evaluations from WES directly to the department.
M.P.H. and M.H.S.A. Applicants:
All applicants must have a U.S. bachelor's degree or its equivalent from an accredited institution. If your degree is from a non-U.S. college or school, the institution must be recognized and approved by the Ministry of Education or commission responsible for higher education in the country where the degree is earned. Applicants with transcripts from an international institution (non-U.S. university, college, or school) are required to submit credential evaluations from WES along with their official transcripts.
- Applications via SOPHAS will be available on September 14, 2012. The deadline to apply is January 15, 2012. Apply via SOPHAS for consideration to any M.P.H. or M.H.S.A. degree program, including Health Management and Policy. If completing a SOPHAS application, do not fill out a HAMPCAS application for Michigan School of Public Health.
- Applications vis HAMPCAS will be available on September 7, 2012. The deadline to apply is January 15, 2012.
