Initial Virus Reproduction Numbers (R0) Within and Between Individuals
Within: The number of viruses generated by a newly transmitted virus within the host
Between: The number of infections generated by an infected individual at the beginning of an epidemic when everyone is susceptible.
For infection to be sustained, both these numbers must be greater than one.
